But if you’re someone who likes the experience of drinking iced coffee from a to-go cup and swears it makes a difference, chances are you don’t quite enjoy it as much when it’s served in a water glass at home. Plus, there’s the portability factor. That detail matter more than you’d think.

A Lid That Turns a Mason Jar Into a Reusable Cup
Maybe you’ve contemplated buying plastic coffee cups, lids, and disposable straws, but what if I told you there was a better option? As it turns out, mason jars make the perfect vessel for iced coffee, especially when paired with a stainless steel coffee lid.
You can find plenty of mason-jar-compatible coffee lid options through a simple search on Amazon, but we really like this stainless steel one since it functions pretty much exactly like a standard to-go coffee lid — except it’s made of a reusable, more durable material. It comes in sizes that fit both wide mouth mason jars and standard mason jars, and the tab covering the spit spout even presses into place like the disposable versions you’d get at a café.

Is it leakproof?
This particular design does have an air hole, so it would spill if you were to tip it over or let it loose in a bag. It’s worth noting though that if you like mixing up your ice coffee with syrups, creamers, and the like, all you need to do is put a finger over the hole and shake, and there won’t be any spillage.
Will the opening fit a straw?
If you’re a straw user and would rather sip through a straw over the spout/opening on the lid, luckily this lid will fit most straws, however may be a tight fit for boba straws or any jumbo straws with a wider opening.
Does it rust or oxidize?
This lid is made of 304 stainless steel, so it is resistant to rust, corrosion, and oxidation. Much like any stainless steel product, rust can technically develop overtime, however, it can easily be avoided that by washing it only in the top rack of the dishwasher, and make sure it’s completely dry before you store it.
Does it have any plastic parts?
No plastic components are used. The lid includes a silicone seal and a small silicone stopper covering the sip hole.
